Bizarre! Cats In Lincolnshire Villages Returning Home with Some Parts of Their Fur Shaved Off

In a peculiar and disturbing turn of events, cat owners in several Lincolnshire villages, including Pinchbeck near Spalding and Kirton near Boston, have reported their pets returning home missing patches of fur.

While the cats appear otherwise unharmed, the unauthorized shaving has left pet owners alarmed and authorities determined to take action. South Holland Police are currently investigating these unusual occurrences, stating that “some form of hair clippers” seem to have been used on the animals.

Mysterious Cases of Shaved Cats

The reports of cats returning home with shaved fur have sparked concern among the local community. Owners in Pinchbeck and Kirton have taken to social media to share their experiences, with many expressing distress over the well-being of their beloved pets.

The affected cats do not appear to have suffered any physical injuries beyond the fur loss, but the act itself has been labeled as unacceptable by authorities. The police have emphasized that while no direct harm has been inflicted, the psychological impact on the animals could be significant, as the act may cause them anxiety and distress.

A spokesperson for South Holland Police stated that robust action would be taken against any individual found responsible for these acts. “This appears to be in the Pinchbeck area. There has also been a case of this in Kirton near Boston.

The motivation behind this is not known. The cats do not appear physically harmed, and the shaven area appears to be small and caused by some form of hair clippers.”

Theories Behind the Unusual Incidents

Local residents have shared various theories regarding the motivation behind these incidents. Some believe it could be the work of an individual targeting pets for an unknown reason, while others speculate that it could be related to superstitious practices such as black magic or voodoo. One social media user commented: “It will be voodoo/black magic and is happening across the UK.”

Another possibility raised by a concerned resident is that cats may be seeking warmth under car bonnets during cold weather. “My cat got in my bonnet years ago and I didn’t know. I started the engine, and he ran out with fur missing in a chunk. Is it possible cats are sleeping in cars for warmth, then running out, and the fur loss is from that?”

This theory suggests that the missing fur may not be a result of human interference but rather an unfortunate accident.

Authorities Urge Vigilance and Reporting

Inspector Matt Dickinson of South Holland Police has urged residents to stay vigilant and report any suspicious behavior. “This behavior is completely unacceptable. Whatever the motivation behind this, it is not something that should be taking place. The cats in question are someone’s pet, part of their family, and not only will these actions cause anxiety to the animal, but they also cause worry to their owners.”

He further warned that anyone found responsible would face legal consequences. “Anyone who is evidenced to be responsible for doing this will have robust action taken against them and, where necessary, be prosecuted for any criminal offenses identified. This is not a bit of fun and needs to stop now.”

In response to these events, cat owners have been advised to keep their pets indoors at night and to monitor their behavior for signs of distress. Residents are also encouraged to report any further incidents to the police, as well as check for potential CCTV footage that could provide clues regarding the perpetrator.

The mystery of the shaved cats continues to baffle the community, leaving pet owners on edge. Whether this is an elaborate prank, a case of mistaken identity, or something more sinister, authorities remain committed to getting to the bottom of these unusual incidents.
