Mohammad Mohseni Goudarzi Sues Youssef Abbad El Andaloussi After Face Permanently Disfigured by Careless Swing

The game of golf is often associated with calm, precision, and leisurely enjoyment. However, an unfortunate incident at a Texas country club has highlighted how dangerous this sport can become when safety is disregarded.

Mohammad Mohseni Goudarzi, a professional golf instructor, is suing Houston-based oil and gas executive Youssef Abbad El Andaloussi for $1 million after a careless golf swing caused permanent and severe facial injuries.

The lawsuit, which brings attention to negligence in what should have been a friendly lesson, paints a disturbing picture of how a momentary lapse in caution can have life-altering consequences.

The Incident: A Careless Swing with Devastating Consequences

On December 27, 2024, at the BlackHorse Golf Club in Houston, an informal golf lesson turned tragic. Mohammad Mohseni Goudarzi, an Iranian-born professional golf instructor residing in Bolivia, agreed to provide Youssef Abbad El Andaloussi, a Moroccan-born oil and gas executive, with basic golf instruction as a family favor. The setting was an upscale public-private country club known for its mix of serene surroundings and lively social gatherings.

During the lesson, El Andaloussi swung his golf club without properly checking his surroundings or ensuring Goudarzi was in a safe position. The result was a direct, forceful blow to Goudarzi’s face, causing multiple facial bone fractures and severe trauma. According to the lawsuit, the impact was so intense that it shattered the instructor’s face, leading to emergency reconstructive surgery and an ongoing need for additional medical treatment.

What makes this incident particularly egregious is that Goudarzi was standing in what the lawsuit describes as a “vulnerable position,” likely trusting that the lesson would be conducted with due care. El Andaloussi’s negligence not only caused immediate physical harm but also triggered serious infections and emotional trauma for Goudarzi.

The injury’s complexity is further highlighted by medical experts who explain that the leading edge of a golf club imparts tremendous force on a small area, increasing the severity of damage. Additionally, the club’s soil-contaminated surface elevates the risk of infection, which Goudarzi unfortunately experienced.

Medical Missteps and Delays Compound the Trauma

After the accident, BlackHorse Golf Club employees attempted to call an ambulance to assist Goudarzi. However, El Andaloussi declined this help, insisting he would personally take Goudarzi to the emergency room. Once at the hospital, El Andaloussi dropped him off and ceased all communication. The aftermath of this careless act became even more complicated and painful due to a series of medical missteps.

Following the incident, Goudarzi was referred by El Andaloussi’s wife, Azi Mohseni, to a local physician who purported to be a facial injury specialist. This doctor performed an X-ray and incorrectly assured Goudarzi that no bones were broken and that no further treatment was necessary. He was told simply to rest, which tragically delayed proper medical intervention.

Due to worsening symptoms and unfamiliarity with the U.S. healthcare system, Goudarzi sought a second opinion from a doctor in Bolivia, who immediately recommended an MRI. This scan revealed multiple facial fractures, contradicting the initial diagnosis. Upon returning to the local physician with this new information, Goudarzi learned that the doctor was not a specialist in facial trauma and suggested he seek further treatment elsewhere.

This misdirection resulted in an 8- to 10-day delay in obtaining proper care, during which time Goudarzi’s condition worsened. Without insurance and insufficient funds, he ultimately sought treatment at a public hospital in Houston. Further scans revealed that his fractures had deteriorated, and serious infections had developed, necessitating emergency reconstructive surgery and an ongoing course of rehabilitative care.

Emotional and Financial Impact: Seeking Justice and Compensation

Beyond the physical trauma, Goudarzi has suffered severe emotional distress. The lawsuit details the mental anguish caused by the permanent disfigurement and the long road of recovery ahead. Emotional trauma, along with the physical injuries, have deeply affected his quality of life.

Despite apologies from Azi Mohseni, who left voice messages and apologized directly to Goudarzi’s mother, neither she nor El Andaloussi have agreed to compensate Goudarzi for his injuries or medical expenses. Mohseni’s referral to the misdiagnosing physician is also cited as inadequate and negligent.

El Andaloussi, for his part, has refused further communication and compensation, leaving Goudarzi to bear the substantial burden of medical bills, lost earnings, and the ongoing impact on his personal and professional life. Goudarzi’s legal team argues that the defendant’s negligent actions and subsequent lack of accountability directly led to his diminished quality of life and financial hardship.

The complaint demands a jury trial and at least $1 million in damages, reflecting the seriousness of the injuries and the lasting effects on Goudarzi’s well-being. This case shines a light on the risks involved in golf, a sport often underestimated for its potential for serious injury when caution is not exercised.

Golf may seem like a gentle pastime, but incidents like this underscore the importance of vigilance and safety, especially when beginners are involved. For Mohammad Mohseni Goudarzi, a career teaching the sport has been irreparably harmed by a single negligent moment — a painful reminder of the need for responsibility both on and off the course.
