In April 2023, Binil, along with his cousin Jain, set out for what they believed was a job opportunity in Poland. Their relative assured them of employment, and the duo embarked on the journey with hope and determination.
Little did they know that their destination would not bring the promised stability. Upon arriving in Russia on April 4, they discovered that there were no jobs waiting for them in Poland. Instead, they were handed over to a Russian mercenary group.

Despite their protests, the cousins were coerced into joining the group. Their training initially involved non-combat roles like delivering supplies and constructing trenches, but the escalating conflict in Ukraine soon thrust them into active combat roles.
