Woman forces husband to sell kidney for ₹10 lakh under the guise of securing their daughter’s future, only to betray him and elope with her lover. The shocking incident, which took place in Sankrail, Howrah district, West Bengal, has left the victim and his family devastated.
The woman, who had been persuading her husband for months, ultimately manipulated him into selling his kidney, claiming it was necessary for their child’s education and marriage. However, her real intention was to gather funds for a new life with her lover, whom she had met on Facebook.
Manipulated into Selling His Kidney
The husband, whose name has not been disclosed, was living in poverty with his family and struggling to make ends meet. His wife, aware of his desperation, used emotional blackmail to convince him to sell his kidney. She repeatedly insisted that the money would be used for their daughter’s future, making it difficult for him to refuse.

For over a year, the man searched for a kidney buyer, a process that involved numerous hurdles due to the legal restrictions on organ sales in India.
Eventually, three months ago, he found someone willing to pay ₹10 lakh for his kidney. With hopes of improving his family’s financial condition, he went through with the sale, unaware of his wife’s sinister plan.
A Betrayal Beyond Imagination
As soon as the transaction was complete, the woman took control of the money. The man, still recovering from the surgery, was left believing that his sacrifice would lead to a better life for his daughter.
However, his wife had different plans. She had been secretly involved with another man from Barrackpore, whom she had met on Facebook. Their affair had been going on for some time, and the money from the kidney sale provided the perfect opportunity for her to escape.
Without informing her husband, she took the ₹10 lakh and ran away with her lover, leaving her family behind. The husband, devastated by the betrayal, soon realized that he had been used.
His pain was not just physical but emotional, as he had given up a part of himself for the betterment of his family, only to be deceived by the one person he trusted the most.
The Aftermath and Legal Battle
Shocked and heartbroken, the husband filed a police complaint, hoping to bring his wife and her lover to justice. With the help of the authorities, he was able to trace them to a house in Barrackpore. When he, along with his family, including his 10-year-old daughter, arrived at the residence, they found the couple inside but unwilling to face them.
The woman refused to open the door and even threatened to file for divorce if they continued to pursue her. Despite emotional pleas from her husband, in-laws, and child, she remained indifferent to their suffering.
The case has since gained widespread attention, raising questions about the illegal sale of human organs and the need for stricter enforcement of laws to prevent such exploitation.
This incident highlights not only the desperation that leads people to sell their organs but also the cruel betrayals that sometimes accompany such decisions. While organ trafficking remains illegal in India under the Transplantation of Human Organs Act, 1994, black-market dealings persist due to the shortage of legal donors.
The husband’s story is a grim reminder of the vulnerabilities faced by economically weaker sections of society, who often fall victim to exploitation under the guise of financial security.
